There can be various reasons why you might have to change your contact details or your home address. When you do so, it is crucial that you also update your address and contact details on all your financial tools, including your credit card. 

This is vital because credit card firms and banks communicate with their consumers frequently by SMS, email, and post (mail). 

Thus, you should keep your information updated on all such portals and ensure that none of your personal information gets leaked.

How To Change Credit Card Mobile Number, Address and Email ID? 

You can change your credit card mobile number, address and email ID using the following methods. While the steps may differ slightly for each bank, they are broadly similar. 

  • Internet Banking 

- Mobile Number Change 

  • Visit the bank’s official website and log in to your account using your credentials.
  • Usually, under the ‘My Profile' section, you can select ‘Contacts’
  • Update your mobile number in this section. Mostly you are to verify using an OTP sent to your mobile number. 
  • Confirm the OTP and click on ‘Submit’ 
  • And you will soon receive a confirmation on the same

The same steps can be followed to change your email ID.

- Change of Address

  • There is an option to update your address under ‘My profile’ or ‘Services’ 
  • You will then be redirected to a new page, asking you to fill in the new address. You will also be required to attach your new address proof. 
  • You would also be required to verify using a Net secure code or login password along with OTP. 
  • Your bank will confirm or approve the same immediately or within two or three working days.

While a few banks ask for proof of mobile numbers, it is not mandatory. However,  in the case of a change of address, the banks require evidence to update the address. This is because banks send posts or couriers a few essential documents, including a new cheque and a new debit/credit card. Banks do change the address for some clients without any proof. 

Here are some of the documents to be submitted as proof which has your new address:

You might have to provide your new address proof when you decide to change your address. The bank will ask you for some documents.

  • These are the documents required to change your credit card address:
  1. Valid Passport 
  2. Driver’s License 
  3. Aadhar Card
  4. PAN Card/Form 60 
  5. Utility Bills (Electricity bill, mobile bill, gas bill etc.) 
  6. Property Receipt 
  7. NREGA-issued Job Card 
  • Using Mobile App

You can also update your contact details or address using the bank’s mobile applications. Here also, the procedure may vary slightly from Internet Banking. 

To change your phone number or email using a mobile application, follow these steps: 

  • Login to the bank’s mobile application
  • Go to ‘My profile and click on the ‘Edit’ option next to your mobile number or email address
  • Enter your new mobile number or email address and verify using OTP.

In the case of a change of address, follow the same procedure and upload the requisite new address proof. And submit the same for the bank’s approval.  

  • Through Customer Care

Alternatively, you as a customer can reach out to customer care service to get an assist on the same. Your bank usually provides detailed steps to change or update your mobile number, email and address. 

  • By Visiting the Branch

If you lag using Internet banking services or mobile apps, you can always visit the bank’s branch and finish your work. You will be asked to complete a form and submit a few required documents. Post this; your request will be processed.
